1. What is the procedure required to file a claim under my AutoSource extended service plan?
Getting your vehicle repaired and having you back on the road as quickly as possible is simple and of utmost concern to AutoSource. If your vehicle experiences a mechanical breakdown or is in need of repair, either take your vehicle or have it towed to any licensed repair facility of your choosing. Present the service repair writer with your AutoSource ID card or your Extended Service Plan contract and remind the service repair writer to call AutoSource before undertaking any repairs, including teardown of your vehicle. The service repair facility will diagnose the problem with your vehicle, and then their representative will call the AutoSource toll-free claims number in order to obtain a claim authorization number for your covered repairs. Should your contract include a deductible provision this deductible will be subtracted from the amount paid to the service repair facility and therefore is your responsibility. AutoSource pays all covered claims directly to the service repair facility by credit card on the same day services are rendered. Therefore, in most instances, you do not have to outlay money for your repair. Customers appreciate not having to be reimbursed and service repair facilities throughout the country appreciate the speed with which they are paid by AutoSource.

2. Are AutoSource warranties honored everywhere?
Most licensed repair facilities in the United States and Canada honor the extended service plans offered by AutoSource. You have the option of taking your vehicle to a new car dealership or any independent, licensed service repair facility nationwide. Please refer to the section on our website entitled "Choosing the Right Repair Facility." This is an independent write-up provided to us by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence. Additionally, the AutoSource extended service plan is accepted at national repair stores such as AAMCO, Cottman, Firestone, Pep Boys and Strauss Discount Auto. Taking your vehicle to a new car dealership is also an option, however, you may have to pay for hourly labor rates and parts prices which go beyond those rates and prices that AutoSource is contractually bound to pay.

3. Do I have to go back to my original dealer for repairs under my extended service plan?
It's 100% your decision! Take your vehicle to your original dealer, another dealer or an independent licensed service repair facility. With all of the plans we offer, your choices are endless. You can take your vehicle to the licensed repair facility that makes you most comfortable. This includes, but is not limited to, your original dealer, your favorite repair facility, or any national repair facility such as AAMCO, Cottman, Firestone, Pep Boys and Strauss Discount Auto.

4. How can I be assured that future claims will be paid using my AutoSource extended service plan?
AutoSource has addressed this critical issue in three very important ways. First, the AutoSource reserve policy is one of the most conservative in the warranty industry. Second, payments for all covered repairs are made the same day service is provided and paid directly to the service repair facility by utilizing the AutoSource corporate credit card. Third, AutoSource is the only warranty in the country that is supported by an Irrevocable Standby Letter of Credit issued by a bank. Most warranties are insured or re-insured. The seasoned financial professionals and automotive experts behind AutoSource wanted a product that would provide its customers with superior service while at the same time maintaining a superior risk profile. We believe we have achieved our purpose.

5. Would you please explain how the deductible on the AutoSource extended service plans works?
When you purchase your extended service plan you have a choice. Accept our standard deductible of $100.00, or alternatively, exercise one of the following two options: a) if the dealer selling you the car has service repair capabilities as part of the dealership business, you can pay a onetime $100.00 surcharge and all repair work done by that dealer will not be subject to the AutoSource standard deductible. Please note that should you pay this "Disappearing Deductible" surcharge and go elsewhere for repair work, you would be responsible for the standard $100.00 deductible; b) the second option is to choose the Zero Deductible from the outset and never have a deductible apply to your vehicle repair work. This option is available for a onetime surcharge of $200.00.

6. When does my extended service plan begin and expire?
Begin is easy. If the purchased vehicle is still under manufacturer's factory warranty, then the Purchaser must seek payment from the manufacturer directly until such time as the factory warranty expires. In such situations, the Purchaser must take the vehicle to a factory authorized dealership. The AutoSource extended service plan will pay for covered repair work only after such expiration. Regarding pre-owned vehicles that are not still under manufacturer's factory warranty, the AutoSource extended service plans provide day one coverage. AutoSource has developed close working relationships with an exclusive network of preferred auto dealerships. Our agreement with those dealers is that they are responsible for selling quality, pre-owned vehicles and that prior to the sale of such vehicles they have been re-conditioned to minimum standards. That's the principle reason why AutoSource does not have an initial 30 day exclusionary period like some other warranty companies.

Expiration dates vary depending on the plan you select. The AutoSource Silver and Gold plans expire when the vehicle's odometer has accrued the additional mileage offered by the specific plan or when the term chosen has been reached, whichever comes first. The Platinum plans, for vehicles with more than 55,001 miles on the odometer at the time of sale, also expire when the vehicle's odometer has accrued the additional mileage offered by the specific plan or when the term chosen has been reached, whichever comes first. Any of these "true mileage" programs are also offered through Preferred Dealerships as Unlimited Mileage Programs and in such instances only the term chosen will determine expiration. The Platinum plans, for vehicles with less than 55,000 miles on the odometer at the time of sale, are "mileage capped" programs and coverage expires when the odometer reading reaches the mileage offered by the specific plan or when the term chosen has been reached, whichever comes first. These Platinum "mileage capped" plans do not offer an unlimited mileage alternative.

7. What makes AutoSource's extended service plans different from those offered by other warranty companies?
AutoSource sells exclusively through the dealer channel. Our dealer network is committed to selling good cars and AutoSource is committed to supporting the business of those dealers. In concert with our dealership customer base, we have developed a range of programs that cover the vital components of an automobile and at that, the most expensive repairs that a consumer might encounter. We do not provide bumper-to-bumper coverage because we believe that the cost/reward relationship does not make sense for consumers or for us. In addition to this core business approach, we have developed programs that enjoy a superior risk profile. All of this is supported by a dedicated professional staff that is committed to providing the very best in customer satisfaction servicing.

8. Is my extended service plan renewable? Is it transferable?
Yes, the AutoSource extended service plan can be renewed prior to expiration. In such situations, your vehicle may have to be inspected at one of the national service repair facilities with which we work. Any charges incurred in this regard are reimbursed if you renew with AutoSource. Also, your extended service plan is transferable should you sell your vehicle. A transfer request, along with a $100.00 transfer fee, must be sent to us prior to title transfer.

9. Should I keep a service record on my vehicle?
Yes, service records provide you with a handy and complete maintenance history of your vehicle and verify that work has been performed at suggested intervals. This can be helpful should you have the need to speak with our claims department.

Call AutoSource at 1-800-910-9050 to discuss any of the foregoing matters.
